The Black Jack Battlefield Park
We are in the process of developing the land that was purchased in 2003
which contains The Black Jack Battlefield, The Pearson Farmstead Home as
well as a newly developed Nature Park that
contains a nature trail which winds through woods along the creek and a
Prairie Restoration Area.
The park will help to tell the story of the unique role that the Battle
played in our shared history.
It will also tell the story of Robert Hall Pearson and his life and times
at his 1890's Farmstead.
The Nature Park will preserve wildlife habitat and provide a place to experience the beauty and tranquility of a natural
Kansas landscape in an area undergoing rapid urbanization.
How you can help
As we strive to continue in our efforts to preserve, interpret, and maintain this important piece of history and natural
Kansas landscape, we also have to face monthly operating expenses.
As with many historic sites, donations are the only way we can meet those
expenses.
Any contribution to the Black Jack Battlefield Trust, Inc. is fully tax
deductable.
Donations may be mailed or made using our website "Donate" buttons.
