Board of Trustees 

The goal and purpose of the organization is to provide for the preservation of property associated with the Battle of Black Jack, which occurred on June 2, 1856, the 40 acre nature park, native tall grass prairie, the Pearson farmhouse and to utilize them to educate the public of the local and national significance of each.

Mission Statement 

To preserve and make accessible this nationally significant battlefield and its environs for posterity, and provide for multiple uses of the site for the benefit not only of those seeking to better understand the battle and its role in American history, but also others who desire the opportunity of relating to the preserved Woodlands and prairie landscape. 

Vision

To make the Battle of Black Jack historic site the most exciting and interesting place where visitors can experience the beauty of a natural environment and learn the history of a significant battle in the evolving story of American Freedom.
